Katelyn is such a leader

I was talking on the phone yesterday to Mikayla's news anchor teacher about some things that were going on with the news team lately. At the end of the convesation, she said that Katelyn is really excited about Mikayla and that she is following on her coat tails. She said that the news anchor are extremely popular in the halls of the school; that as they walk down the halls, kids are saying hi to them and saying "Look, there's Mikayla and Geniveve". Katelyn has begun saying "THAT is my sister!!!" She's extremely proud. Well, last week, as they were preparing for the news broadcast, in walks Katelyn with 3-4 kids following her. They walk right into the room and into the other little room where they broadcast. Katelyn proudly announces "That is where my sister sits when she does the news. And that is where "I" am going to sit next year when I do the news". She was leading a field trip!!!! This 5 year old little girl was showing these kids around and leading them on this little excursion.

This was also the first we'd heard that Katelyn wants to take over Mikayla's position next year when Mikayla moves to the Intermediate school. We'll see what happens.....tryouts for the anchor positions are the end of April.
